With mom having turned 80 this year, we decided it’s time to get off the road… but looking for a more traditional homestead has been daunting!
Even with the possibility of a full-time job, I don’t think we could afford to stay in this area… The prices have been astronomical!
Staying in our RV in this area would also prove to be a challenge as well. Not all RVs are created equal, and ours is not winter-worthy!
So, the taxing question that remains… should we stay or should we go?!?
We’ve decided we are going to head out at the end of the season to warmer climates.
But even this too is proving to be a challenge.
As a single workamper, jobs are getting more and more difficult to find. Campgrounds want couples… one to work in the office, while the other works outside! And the one place we did get an answer from, the monthly fee is the cost of a traditional homestead that actually has land and a house! Seriously?!?
When did being a workamper become so difficult and so expensive?!?
It doesn’t help the situation as I’ve been talking with my fellow workers. I am finding that everyone else has somewhere to go, while we are still at lose ends…
Worrying…? A little.
But… we still have two months. And while we do plan to head out, we just don’t know where that will be!
So, let’s see where the road takes us!
