Our New Adventure

When mom and I started this RV lifestyle 3 years ago, we’d set out to travel while she still had her health.

Not only did we want to ‘see the world,’ we wanted to seek out others and their ways of utilizing their homesteading skills. We looked forward to the adventure!

Somewhere along the line, we wandered off that path…

So that mom wasn’t the soul financial provider, I became a workamper — and started working at various campgrounds on our journey.

This last campground that we came to, we did so because it was close to family. We’d been there for a year and a half! We’d even started to feel the itch to look for a piece of land so we could grow and raise our own food once again!

But the campground where I was working was sold and the job had come to an end! Once again, it was time to pack up and hit the road!

Yet with our packing, it brought a sort of sadness about this trip…

Where I once felt a sense of adventure to travel, I now have a longing to set down roots… a deep longing to get my hands back in the soil of a more traditional homestead.

Yes, the campground I’m heading to will allow me to grow my own food in small containers, but it just doesn’t feel the same as when we were living on our traditional homestead growing and raising our own food.

So, what does this sudden change in our plans mean in regards to the future? Will we start looking for a piece of land at our new destination? Or do I just need to get there, bring out my planters and feel the soil in my hands once again!

Only time will time…

Until next time,

Peace, love and safe travels,

~ Sheri
